Be Careful of Work from Home Scams
Thousands of people are looking for ways to make money from home. Maybe you've even run across what sounds like a great work-at-home opportunity. It enables single mothers or fathers to stay home with their children, and other people to just pick up some extra money for the holidays, or when it's needed. But you really need to check into the opportunity and verify that it is legitimate. You don't want to fall prey to one of many work from home scams.
You can be sure that there are people who will stoop to any low and dirty scheme to steal your money. They don't care a bit about you, your family, or whether or not you need that money. They'll keep scamming people as long as it gets them money. Make sure you know that your opportunity is not just another way for some lazy rich man or woman to line their pockets a little more. Since you don't want to fall into these traps, here are some tips to help you avoid both new and old work from home scams.
- Don't believe anyone who says you will be able to earn a ton of money from home. You'll find that these offers say something like, 'Earn $3000 a week from home in your bunny slippers.' These are rip-offs, no matter how convincing they sound. You can earn money from home, but it takes work just like other jobs.
- Do your best to get some references. Get some opinions from people who took up the offer. Find out how it works and if they are satisfied with it.
- Watch out for those 'businesses' who do little more than send you materials for your money and leave it up to you to find your own customers.
- Don't believe the 'envelope stuffing schemes.' It is one of the oldest work from home scams there is. All they give you for your money are instructions that tell you how to place an ad so that you too can take other people's money.
Most importantly, avoid these work from home scams by using your common sense. It's a very bad sign if the company doesn't let you speak with a real human being. Don't believe them if they won't give you a real address or phone number. Don't give your money to these dishonest people. Protect yourself and find the truth about scams.
